When you step out of a hot shower into a chilly bathroom, you want heat—and you want it right now. But there’s a catch. Infrared heaters can be blindingly bright. If you’ve ever looked at one of those lamps and had to squint, you know exactly what I mean. It’s even worse for babies, whose eyes are way more sensitive than ours. So, we had to figure out how to give you that instant warmth without the harsh glare. The secret is in the light. Most standard infrared lamps blast out a high-intensity light that feels like a spotlight in your face. To fix this, we use special quartz coatings. Think of it like a pair of sunglasses for the heating element. It blocks out those aggressive blue-light frequencies and shifts everything toward a softer, amber glow. You still get all the cozy heat on your skin, but your eyes don’t feel like they’re being attacked. Built for the steam Bathrooms are tough on electronics. Between the humidity and the splashes, things can go south quickly. That’s why we seal our heating elements tight. No moisture gets in, which means no short circuits. We also tweaked the reflectors. Instead of focusing the light into a sharp, blinding beam, we designed them to diffuse it. This gets rid of those annoying “hot spots” that can feel a bit too intense if you’re standing right under the unit. A quick tip on setup Placement is everything. If you put a high-wattage heater too low, it’s going to feel like you’re standing too close to a campfire. It’s uncomfortable. Just make sure you leave enough breathing room between the lamp and where you’ll actually be standing. The trade-off Here is the honest part: filtering the light does cost a little bit of energy. You lose a tiny fraction of the heat output because of that protective coating. Now, you might be tempted to crank up the voltage to make up for it.**Don’t do that.**Pushing the voltage too high is a great way to burn out the filament early. Just stick to the rated settings, keep the vents clear so the housing can breathe, and your heater will last a lot longer.
