They just push air around, which feels like a losing game. So we built something different. Our basement heaters lean on powerful infrared halogen tubes. They don’t just warm the air. They send heat directly into the solid stuff—the floor, the walls, the objects around you. It’s a warm-from-the-inside kind of feeling.
The power behind the warmth
These units are built to match what your building already has. You can choose between 220V or 400V, so it plugs right into your electrical setup. We size the wattage to really tackle a basement, typically between 1500W and 2500W. And the heating element itself? It’s kept short—about 300mm. That gives you a compact heater that can slip into tight corners where space is hard to find.
What’s inside?
At the heart of it is a quartz halogen tube. The halogen cycle keeps the filament clean and strong, so the heat stays consistent over time. No dimming. No blackening. And the connection? It uses an R7s base. It’s a standard, two-contact design that handles the high current safely, without arcing. That means it’s a simple, straight-forward swap for what you might already have.
What it feels like to run
Here’s the real win: you stop cold floors and you stop the dampness. The radiant heat does its job without blowing air, which also means less dust swirling around. But there’s a trade-off. This is serious heat. You need to make sure the area around the unit and whatever you mount it to can handle those high temperatures. And of course, the space needs good ventilation to let the waste heat escape comfortably.
